- Personal: Share your story, who are you and why have you joined, where you live, what talents you have, your family, other animals, life purpose - anything about yourself.
- I have joined because my love of horses led me here. A simple enough statement born of a deep commitment not so simple. I live in the NW PA among the rolling hills and Allegeheny Forest. I can walk out me back door and ride for hours in the woods never seeing another human soul. On a daily basis, I now do equine and canine (and anything else that needs it) sports massage therapy. Along with the massage ,I do skeletal balancing. I am a Reiki teacher and use this on the animals. I have always had a calming effect on animals, they seem to be drawn to me. I am 61 and used to work in Quality Assurance in a shop. A very close friend of my husbands passed over at our house 5 yrs ago. I took a good hard look at life and quit my job, went to Equissage for my training and have been doing this ever since. My family accepts my ideals and has embraced my horsey lifestyle. I have 4 sons, a wonderful daughterin law, 2 daughters, 6 grand daughters 2 grandsons. While my husband cant ride anymore, he is one of my best supporters. I have an Aussie who is one of the great trail dogs and one lovely barn cat. Healing is my life purpose.
- Interest in Horses: Share if you love horses, have horses -what kind, ride-type of riding, any reasons you are connected with horses.
- While I used to do many different disciplines including showing, now, I RIDE. I trailride, as often as I can, all day, breaks for lunch. I am connected with horses by love for their great hearts and souls.
- Career: Tell us what you do, if you have a horse-related business or other business, if you are a student, or want to have a career with horses.
- As I have said above, I am an Equine and Canine Massage Therapist. I work on Dressage. eventers, reining and barrel, and Amish buggy horses.
Many of my friends are trailriders that start and finish their seasons with massages for their horse buddies. In the 5 years that I have been working, I have never been hurt by a horse. I feel an extraordinary connection to my clients.
